What is the ruling on a wife remaining in her family's home for more than 40 days and taking her gold jewelry without her husband's knowledge, bearing in mind that she is four months pregnant and her father refuses to reconcile due to disputes between the spouses?

If a wife uses abusive language and leaves the house without permission and without necessity, she is defiant (nashiz) and disobedient. The husband is advised to remind her of his rights and his guardianship (qawamah), and that his obedience takes precedence over the obedience of her parents in matters that are customary. Divorce should be avoided unless other solutions are impossible, for Allah may compensate each of them with better, as stated in His Almighty saying: "But if they separate [by divorce], Allah will enrich each [of them] from His abundance."
