Is it permissible for a pregnant woman in her second month to break her fast in Ramadan if the fasting hours are long and she experiences extreme fatigue, and then make up the missed days later?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
A pregnant woman is permitted to break her fast if she fears for herself or her fetus, and she must make up the days she missed. If she fears only for herself, then she is only required to make up the days without feeding the poor. However, if she does not fear for herself or her fetus, then she must fast. But if she experiences unbearable hardship during the fast, she is permitted to break it.
