The answer

A pregnant woman is not permitted to break her fast in unless she fears harm to herself or her fetus. The usual hardship alone does not permit breaking the fast. The questioner's breaking her fast for the remainder of Ramadan due to obeying her husband, without a valid legal reason, is a great sin that requires repentance and making up the days only if intercourse did not occur. However, if intercourse occurred after eating, there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding the necessity of expiation. Some scholars, like the majority of jurists, hold that it is obligatory, while others, like Imam Shafi'i, do not consider it obligatory, as he stipulates that intercourse must occur during a valid fast.
