If the wife was coerced into sexual intercourse while fasting, then upon you is a grave sin, and you must repent and make up the fast. Her fast is valid due to the : "Lifted from my nation are error, forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into." If she willingly consented to you, then she must repent and make up the fast. There is disagreement regarding the obligation of expiation upon her, and the majority of scholars hold that it is obligatory.
