The answer

If a man has intercourse with his wife during the daytime in , he must repent sincerely, and he must offer expiation (), which is: freeing a believing slave. If he cannot find one, then he must fast for two consecutive months. If he is unable to do that, then he must feed sixty poor people. The transition between these steps occurs when one is unable to perform the preceding one. Ignorance of the prohibition or the expiation is not considered an excuse for an original Muslim living in a Muslim environment. It is not permissible to perform the Aqeeqah with the intention of expiation, due to the difference in the conditions for each of them.
