Is it obligatory to make up for the missed days (qadaa') in addition to offering expiation (kaffara), or is it only obligatory to make up for the missed days for someone who deliberately broke their fast on days in previous Ramadans without a valid excuse, knowing that she is a university student who has no money, and if expiation is obligatory, should she take the money from her father, and to whom should she give it?

Delaying the making up of Ramadan (definition) fasts without a valid excuse is not permissible. Along with making them up, one must repent and feed one poor person for each day, providing a mudd of food (approximately 750 grams of rice). Food can also be prepared for the poor. It is permissible for the feeding to be from your own money, your father's money, or other sources. If funds for expiation are not available now, the obligation remains a debt until you are able to fulfill it. Some scholars are of the opinion that it is waived in such a case.
