Which are the two days referred to in the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “Do not anticipate Ramadan by fasting a day or two”? Are they the 29th and 30th of Sha’ban, or the 28th and 29th of Sha’ban?

Some scholars interpreted the prohibition of fasting one or two days before Ramadan (definition) as referring to the Day of Doubt (the 30th of Sha‘ban), because the doubt on this day is whether it completes Sha‘ban or marks the beginning of Ramadan. The mention of two days might include the 29th, if the scope of doubt widens due to cloudiness or similar factors over two or three consecutive months. In such a case, the prohibition would then include the Day of Doubt, which could be the 29th or the 30th.
