What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding one who intentionally broke her fast during Ramadan at the age of 12, and now wishes to offer expiation while being unemployed and having donated blood?

Intentionally eating or drinking without a valid excuse during Ramadan (definition) is legally forbidden and a violation of the sanctity of the month. One who does so must increase their prayers for forgiveness, repent, and make up the day they broke their fast. Some scholars mandate the greater expiation (kaffara kubra) for each day one intentionally breaks the fast.

As for one who intentionally broke their fast, they must hasten to seek much forgiveness, make up the aforementioned day, and pay the expiation for delaying the make-up fast, which is a mudd of food (approximately 750 grams). Some scholars hold that the expiation is repeated for each year that passed before the make-up fast was performed. Donating blood does not suffice for making up the fast or paying the expiation. If she is unable to pay the expiation now, she should pay it when she becomes able.
