The question

Do you feel happiness and a sense of relief when helping others, even if it is not for the sake of Allah or if the beneficiary is non-Muslim? What types of help bring about this feeling? And does everyone feel happy when doing good, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, whether their benefit extends to others or not?

The answer

Helping people is one of the greatest acts of righteousness and benevolence that Allah loves. It is a reason for Allah's love for His servant. Fulfilling people's needs and alleviating their distress brings Allah's help and protection in this world and the Hereafter. Among the most beloved deeds to Allah are bringing joy to a Muslim and fulfilling their needs. A Muslim is rewarded for helping all people, and helping a Muslim is better. A Muslim is rewarded for actions that benefit others, even if they did not intend to seek closeness to Allah, but if they did intend that, their reward is greater. A disbeliever may find the effect of their good deeds in this world, while Allah reserves the rewards of the believer for the Hereafter.
