Is it better to be patient and not live with the wife for two years until she reaches 18 years of age, knowing that her studies will end within one year and there is an urgent need for marriage, or to divorce her, which might lead to her apostatizing from Islam?

The basic principle is that it is not permissible to prevent a wife from her husband as long as she is capable of fulfilling marital duties. However, in non-Muslim countries, it is advised to be patient until Allah provides a way out. If a man fears temptation for himself, emigration to Muslim lands becomes obligatory, and he is permitted to take his wife with him, even without the permission of her parents. If emigration is not possible and he fears sin, then he must marry another woman, even without formal documentation and keeping it a secret. When he is able to consummate his marriage with his first wife, he must then adhere to justice between them.
