The answer

Bearing false witness is among the gravest major sins and greatest transgressions. Allah Almighty says: "So avoid the impurity of idols and avoid false statement" (Quran 22:30). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you of the gravest of major sins? Associating partners with Allah, disobedience to parents, and bearing false witness." It is not permissible for a Muslim to bear false witness, even if it is against a non-Muslim.
