The answer

There is no specific prophetic tradition prohibiting a guest from taking food from a wedding feast (walima) to their home. However, jurists are of the opinion that the food belongs to its owner, and guests are only permitted to eat from it. Therefore, they are not allowed to feed others from it or dispose of it in any way other than eating, unless they know the owner of the food consents to it. The basis for this is the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Indeed, the property of a Muslim is not lawful except with his willing consent."
