A Muslim's residence with his children in non-Muslim countries poses a great danger to their faith and worldly life. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disavowed anyone who resides among the polytheists. Therefore, one must strive to leave those lands. Sustenance is guaranteed by Allah, so it should not be a reason to remain there. It is forbidden to work in a prohibited field or to cooperate in sin and transgression, for Allah says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." (Quran 5:2) And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect.
