What is the ruling on selling, buying, possessing, and displaying flags and emblems of non-Muslim countries that are worn and used in various items?

Among the objectives of Islamic Sharia (definition) is to distinguish the Muslim from the disbelievers in creed, morals, conduct, and appearance, and to sever all ties of love, loyalty, and support for every disbeliever. The verses and hadiths affirm this principle and warn against imitating the disbelievers, because "whoever imitates a people is one of them." Participation in their outward guidance inherits a resemblance and similarity that leads to conformity in morals and deeds, while opposition necessitates distinction and separation from the people of misguidance. Among the manifestations of loyalty to the disbelievers is imitating them in dress, slogans, and names, encouraging their clubs, and being impressed by their ideas. Muslims must adhere to the guidance of Islam and beware of deviating to the path of those who have incurred Allah's wrath and those who are astray.
