Is the action I took of receiving the price difference after the seller reduced it, without the knowledge of the original buyer (the company my friend works for), considered impermissible (haram) or permissible (halal), and what should I do with the money if it is impermissible, especially since my friend cannot inform his company about this?

Neither you nor your friend are permitted to take the price difference except with the permission of the company that authorized you to make the purchase. This is because the price reduction is a right belonging to the company, and it must be returned to it by any available means, even if covertly.
