The answer

If the agent can inquire about the principal's intention, then he should do so. Otherwise, if he knows that the principal intends to distribute the meat to the poor and not for a specific occasion requiring slaughter, then there is no objection to buying a slaughtered sheep and distributing it, provided that it fulfills the purpose and there is no deficiency in the meat or increase in the price. However, if the principal's intention was to buy a live sheep, slaughter it, and distribute it, then the agent is not permitted to deviate from this, and he is responsible for any increase in price if he contravenes it.
