The answer

The pillar of standing at Arafat is achieved by standing there for a moment before the dawn of the Day of Sacrifice, and the pilgrimage of one who attains that is valid. He must enter into from the first he passes. It is permissible for him to enter into ihram for tamattu', , or . If there is not enough time for before the Day of Sacrifice, then he should not enter into ihram for tamattu', but rather for qiran or ifrad. Tamattu': Entering into ihram for an individual umrah during the months of Hajj, then entering into ihram for Hajj. Ifrad: Entering into ihram for Hajj only. Qiran: Combining umrah and Hajj in one ihram. It is permissible to enter into ihram with any of these, and scholars have differed as to which is best, with tamattu' being considered best by the Hanbalis.
