If you wish to perform ' from Makkah after Hajj, it is necessary for you to go out to the hill (area outside the boundary), like Al-Tan'im, to assume from there; otherwise, a dam (sacrificial offering) will be incumbent upon you. It is not permissible to assume ihram for 'Umrah while you are still in the state of ihram for Hajj; rather, you must first exit the state of ihram. Going out to the hill to assume ihram from there before the farewell is permissible. 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) assumed ihram for 'Umrah from Al-Tan'im after she had completed Hajj and before the farewell tawaf. The farewell tawaf is obligatory in Hajj for those who are not residents of Makkah, and failure to perform it necessitates a dam; it is (recommended) in 'Umrah.
