Is it permissible to perform Umrah after Hajj for someone who intended Ifrad or Qiran, and will remain in Makkah after the days of Eid, knowing that he is coming from Jordan and it is not easy for him to return later to perform Umrah, and does the ruling regarding Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, apply to him?

There are three types of Ihram for Hajj: Tamattu‘, which is the most preferable, Qiran, and Ifrad. Tamattu‘: This involves entering into Ihram for Umrah during the months of Hajj, performing it, and then desacralizing. Afterwards, one enters into Ihram for Hajj in the same year. A sacrificial animal (dam) is required unless one is among the residents of Al-Masjid Al-Haram. Qiran: This involves entering into Ihram for both Hajj and Umrah simultaneously, or entering into Ihram for Umrah and then incorporating Hajj into it before the Tawaf. A sacrificial animal (dam) is required, similar to the Mutamatti‘. Ifrad: This involves entering into Ihram for Hajj alone, and remaining in Ihram until the stoning of the Jamrah on the day of Eid, shaving the head, performing Tawaf Al-Ifadah, and Sai.

Regarding Umrah after Hajj: If the pilgrim was performing Tamattu‘ or Qiran, Umrah after their Hajj is not legislated for them. If the pilgrim was performing Ifrad and had not performed Umrah before (meaning this Umrah is the obligatory Umrah of Islam upon them), there is no harm in performing Umrah after their Hajj from Al-Tanim or any other place outside the Haram boundary (Al-Hill), as Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) did. However, if they had performed Umrah previously, Umrah after their Hajj is not legislated for them, because Umrah is obligatory only once in a lifetime, just like Hajj. It is best for one who enters into Ihram for Hajj as Ifrad and does not have a sacrificial animal, to convert their Ihram into Umrah and desacralize, then enter into Ihram for Hajj on the eighth day. This is what the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded his companions to do.
