The aforementioned , "Announce the marriage and conceal the pilgrimage," has no basis in the books of . However, the first part of it has been narrated with the wording "Make the marriage well-known and announce it," narrated by Al-Tabarani and deemed good by Al-Albani, and with the wording "Announce the marriage," narrated by Ahmad, Ibn Hibban, and Al-Hakim, and deemed good by Al-Albani. The command to conceal the engagement, not the pilgrimage, was also reported in a weak Hadith narrated by Al-Daylami: "Make the marriage apparent and conceal the engagement."
