The answer

If a woman wishes to go out to the mosque or elsewhere, she must not wear perfume, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "If a woman goes out to the mosque, let her wash off perfume as she washes off (ritual impurity)," and his saying to Abu Hurairah: "The prayer of a woman who has perfumed herself with perfume for other than her husband will not be accepted until she washes off her perfume as she washes off janabah. So go and wash it off, then come back and pray." As for specifying that her prayer will not be accepted for forty days, there is no text to that effect.
