Is it logical to believe that the period of adolescence does not represent a problem, and that suffering during it is not necessarily a problem?
If an adolescent adheres to the শরীʿআ (Islamic law) guidelines, such as lowering the gaze, avoiding mixing with non- individuals and people of corruption, occupying their mind with lofty matters, learning the rulings of their religion, nurturing their faith with books of and spiritual edification (al-Raqā'iq), befriending righteous people, and working to invite others to their Lord, then adolescence will not be a problem for them. This was also not a problem for the young men and women among the Companions, including Musʿab ibn ʿUmayr. However, if an adolescent succumbs to the whispers of Satan and follows evil companions, then this stage will be a problem for them, and corruption may take hold of their heart. Therefore, the adolescent must take care of themselves and tread the path of guidance, and their guardian must look after them with proper care and upbringing.
