Is it permissible for a Muslim woman in a country that prohibits hijab and persecutes veiled women to strive for the imposition of hijab through working or studying in mixed environments (especially in the scientific field for the benefit of others and calling to Allah), while maintaining Islamic manners and performing prayers on time, or should she avoid tribulation and harassment and stay in her home?

The hijab (definition) is an obligation upon Muslim women, and the Muslim woman is charged with inviting people to Allah with wisdom and good counsel, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. The believer who mixes with people and endures their harm has a greater reward than one who does not mix with them. A woman must adhere to Allah's law in her own person and invite others to it through her words and actions. She must avoid unlawful mixing, being alone with non-mahram (definition) men, and places where she might be exposed to trials. It is not permissible for her to uncover any part of her body under the pretext of da'wah (inviting to Islam).
