Is it permissible for a veiled woman to wear a wig to avoid stares of astonishment in the workplace?

The hijab (definition) is a religious obligation incumbent upon Muslim women when they go out.

It is not permissible for a woman to wear a wig in front of non-mahram (definition) men because it does not fulfill the purpose of covering the hair, which is to conceal adornment.

If there is no necessity or legitimate need for a job where a woman mixes with men, then it is not permissible to continue in it, for a woman's decision to stay in her home is better for her.

It is permissible to wear a wig among women, as some scholars have held that placing hair on the head without attaching it (like a wig) does not fall under the prohibition of hair extensions.
