Is money taken from a female colleague at work, within the framework of a romantic relationship, and exchanged gifts, forbidden or permissible?

Emotional relationships outside the framework of marriage are forbidden because they involve unlawful enjoyment and seclusion with a non-mahram (definition) woman. The gifts resulting from such relationships are not permissible for the recipient, and he must dispose of them by giving them in charity or similar means. It is not permissible for him to benefit from them. Repentance from this relationship and disposal of the gifts are obligatory. The temptation of women is among the most dangerous and harmful temptations, as stated in the Hadith (definition): "I have not left behind me any temptation more harmful to men than women." And in another Hadith: "Beware of the world and beware of women, for the first temptation of the Children of Israel was with women."
