Is it permissible to use gifts (including financial aid and a car) that were given by former girlfriends, knowing that these gifts were given out of love or a need for help, and not because of an illicit relationship?

It is not permissible to keep gifts given from previous relationships with girls, as they often serve corrupt purposes. The exchange of gifts between a young man and a young woman in this manner falls within the scope of a forbidden relationship. These gifts must be disposed of by giving them as charity to the needy or spending them on acts of righteousness.

Forbidden relationships are not limited to illicit sexual intercourse that incurs the prescribed punishment (hadd), but also include many types of illicit sexual acts that do not incur the hadd, as stated in the noble Hadith: "The son of Adam has his share of adultery written for him, and he will inevitably attain it. The adultery of the eyes is looking, the adultery of the ears is listening, the adultery of the tongue is speaking, the adultery of the hand is striking, and the adultery of the foot is walking. The heart desires and wishes, and the private parts either confirm or deny that."

The temptation of women is among the greatest and most dangerous temptations, as mentioned in the Prophetic Hadiths: "I have not left behind me any temptation more harmful to men than women," and "Beware of the world, and beware of women, for the first temptation of the Children of Israel was through women." Therefore, one must be cautious and stay away from anything that leads to this temptation.
