What is the ruling on holding weddings, or what is called "Al-Tasdeerah," and what is the 'awrah (intimate parts) between women?

The jurists have concluded that the 'awrah (intimate parts) of a woman in relation to another woman is what is between the navel and the knee. It is permissible for a woman to look at all of another woman's body, except for what is between these two limits, as long as there is no lust or temptation. The prohibition of a woman looking at another woman's 'awrah has been reported based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "A man should not look at the 'awrah of another man, and a woman should not look at the 'awrah of another woman." It is necessary to ensure that no temptation or lust occurs, to preserve modesty, and for the Muslim to be a good example. As for the "tastheerah" (the bride sitting on a high platform for women to see her), it is permissible in principle unless it is accompanied by something forbidden, such as uncovering the 'awrah or the presence of non-mahram (definition) men. Holding weddings is permissible as long as they do not involve forbidden acts such as intermingling (between sexes), musical instruments, or extravagance.
