What are the limits of a Muslim woman's 'awrah for another Muslim woman, in cases of necessity and non-necessity?

The madhhab (school of thought) of the majority of scholars is that the awrah (private parts) of a Muslim woman in front of another woman is the same as the awrah of a man in front of another man, which is from the navel to the knee. Some said it is only the two private parts (front and back). While others are of the view that the awrah of a woman in front of another woman is what is commonly displayed as adornment, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And not to expose their adornment except to their husbands..." This view is the most cautious and furthest from temptation, and it was the practice of the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Companions. As for extensive exposure of the body, it is a path to temptation and imitation of disbelieving women.
