The orphans' money should not be given to them unless their sound judgment in their actions is ascertained after they reach puberty, based on the words of Allah Almighty: "And test the orphans until they reach the age of marriage. Then if you perceive in them sound judgment, release to them their property." (Quran 4:6). Puberty is indicated by the growth of coarse hair around the private parts, reaching the age of fifteen, and the emission of semen. For women, it is also indicated by menstruation and pregnancy.
