The scholars have mentioned that wailing (niyaha) is raising the voice in weeping and enumerating the virtues of the deceased with falsehood, or tearing clothes, and striking cheeks. It would have been more appropriate for you not to raise your voices in the presence of non-related men. As for the visions (ru'ya), we do not have a special department for them, but you must seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty in any case. You should increase in bestowing mercy, seeking forgiveness, supplicating for your brother, and giving charity on his behalf.
