What is the Shar'i ruling when a wife quarrels with someone, and what should her husband do, especially if she says to him, "You are not allowed to speak with her" in a moment of anger?
We advise the couple to pardon and forgive the woman in question, for the reward of forgiveness is with Allah. The husband is not required to abandon the family because of his wife; indeed, it is not permissible to abandon them for more than three (days). Your forgiveness of that woman is commendable, and the "Arrogance towards the arrogant is charity" is not authentically attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; rather, it is a saying of people. The arrogant person should first be advised; if he does not desist, then it is permissible to rebuke him through boycotting. The incident might be merely a misunderstanding, so try to reconcile viewpoints through pardon and forgiveness, in compliance with the words of Allah Almighty: "So fear Allah and amend that which is between you."
