The husband does not have the right to prevent his wife from having children, as it is a shared right between them, and neither of them is permitted to prevent the other from it except for a valid excuse. It is permissible for the spouses to agree by mutual consent to postpone childbearing out of necessity, and this is not limited by a specific time. The ruling that is adopted by us is that abortion is absolutely impermissible unless the continued existence of the fetus poses a danger to the mother's life. As for birth control methods and the effect of abortion on a woman's fertility, this should be referred to specialized doctors.
