It is prescribed for a Muslim to seek help from Allah and to seek treatment by consulting doctors and performing ruqyah (definition) (exorcism/spiritual healing) according to the Quran and Sunnah (definition), while not despairing of Allah's mercy and healing. Indeed, despairing of the spirit of Allah is a characteristic of disbelievers.
