Are curses treatable, and if so, how can they be treated given the family's suffering from hereditary paralysis that does not respond to medical treatment, and mysterious accidents that prevent access to help?
It is permissible to seek treatment for hereditary diseases and to search for a cure for them, based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "(Seek treatment, for Allah Almighty has not sent down a disease except that He has sent down a cure for it, except for one disease: old age)." Cursing a specific Muslim is one of the major sins, for whoever curses a believer is as if he has killed him. There is nothing to confirm that a hereditary disease is caused by a curse; it may be a trial, an expiation, and a purification. The advice is to strive in searching for a cure, while increasing supplication and earnest entreaty to Allah and repentance, in addition to (Islamic incantation), which is beneficial for physical and psychological ailments and does not contradict medical treatment.
