Where can I find the fatwa that prohibits traveling abroad for medical treatment?

We are not aware of any fatwa (definition) that prohibits traveling abroad for medical treatment if the treatment is not available in one's own country, provided that the travel adheres to Islamic guidelines and one can afford the expenses. It is preferable to seek treatment in Muslim countries first to avoid witnessing objectionable acts. However, if treatment is not available there, then there is no objection to going to the land of the polytheists for treatment. Patients must be diligent in maintaining righteousness and connecting with Allah.
