Where can one find a fatwa prohibiting travel abroad for medical treatment?

We do not know of a fatwa that prohibits traveling abroad in search of treatment for those who cannot find specialized doctors or sufficient means of treatment in their own country, provided that the travel adheres to Sharia guidelines and the costs are affordable. It is preferable to seek treatment in Muslim countries. However, if that is not possible, then there is no objection to traveling to the land of the polytheists for treatment, while being careful to remain steadfast [in faith] and connected to Allah.
