Are social media sites forbidden because they contain inappropriate content? Is one sinful for not unsubscribing from forbidden sites? Is it permissible to remain in mixed WhatsApp groups to gain benefit while avoiding forbidden things? Is it permissible not to delete old forbidden activities from accounts?

Whoever avoids forbidden acts and legal prohibitions, there is no harm upon him in benefiting from social media websites that he needs, even if some of their users commit errors. A person is only accountable for himself, and he must offer advice to the one who errs and forbid evil to the best of his ability. As for deleting email and movie logs, do what is easy for you without excessive burden, for what is important is regret over the past, refraining from following them, and resolving not to return to them.
