Is it permissible for a man to post his picture on social media, by analogy with the impermissibility of a woman doing so?

It is permissible to photograph with a camera or video (capturing a shadow) as long as there is nothing in it that makes it impermissible, such as a picture of a woman displaying her adornments or a picture intended for veneration. There is no harm in a man placing his picture on social media, because he is not like a woman who is 'awrah (private parts that must be covered) and whom Satan beautifies. Also, it does not fall under the prohibition of hanging pictures, because the picture is erased by turning off the device. Similarly, it is not permissible for a woman to place a picture of a non-mahram (definition) man as her profile picture.
