If the picture shows something from a woman's awrah (parts that must be covered), it is not permissible to post it on social media, whether the woman is alive or deceased. The woman's face is part of her awrah, according to the most preponderant and authoritative opinion. Therefore, it is not permissible to post a picture showing a woman's face on social media or other platforms that allow those who are not permitted to see it to view it.
