Is dealing with the (Visa Samba) card still forbidden if it is confirmed that the amount is paid to the bank within the specified period without paying any interest?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
Dealing with a Samba Visa card is forbidden (), even if the customer pays on time. This is because the bank lends the customer money with interest, which is the value of the annual Visa subscription fee. This is usury (riba) that the customer pays regardless of whether they pay on time or not. In addition, the customer is obligated to pay another usurious amount if they delay payment, and this obligation is forbidden. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen issued a prohibiting it due to the presence of usury and the commitment to it.
