Has the Hadith about the trade embargo on Iraq, Syria, and Egypt already occurred, or is it the current apparent situation?

It is mentioned in the noble Hadith (definition) that Iraq, Sham (Syria/Levant), and Egypt will withhold their bounties. There are two interpretations for this: The first is that this is due to the Islamization of their people, leading to the abolishment of the jizya (tribute tax). The second, which is the more probable, is that disbelievers will seize these lands at the end of times and withhold their bounties from the Muslims. This has happened repeatedly, the last instance being the colonial powers seizing these lands. As for what is happening today in Iraq, one cannot definitively assert that it is precisely what the Hadith meant, though it could be one of its repetitions.
