Is it permissible for my wife to work at a pension insurance company, knowing that her work is limited to signing contracts, and is it lawful for me to eat from her money if her work is impermissible?
Commercial pension insurance conducted by commercial insurance companies is forbidden () because it is based on (excessive uncertainty) and (gambling). As for that organized by the state, its funds and benefits return to the subscribers, although dealing with riba (usury) in the funds of most of these schemes renders them forbidden. Therefore, the wife's work in conducting commercial insurance contracts is forbidden, and what she takes in return for it is forbidden. The husband should explain the Islamic ruling to her with wisdom and gentleness, as she is new to Islam. As for dealing with her money, if she has lawful money other than this salary, it is permissible; otherwise, it is not permissible.
