The answer

The fundamental principle for a person is freedom. Therefore, there is no blame on an individual for voluntarily retiring from work, so long as they possess other means of earning a livelihood and have what suffices them, rendering this work unnecessary. However, if their retirement would contradict a greater interest for the Muslims than their remaining at work, then it is preferable for them to continue. So, if there is a benefit for the Muslims through them, and they are capable of providing it, they should not abandon it except for a preponderant interest. And their being at the forefront of jihad is better than engaging in voluntary acts of worship.
