Is it obligatory to set an alarm to perform the prayer upon the advent of its time before sleeping, or is it permissible to sleep with the intention of waking up and performing the prayer within its time?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
It is best to perform the prayer at the beginning of its time. It is forbidden to delay it until its time expires or until there is not enough time left. It is also forbidden for a man to delay it from congregational prayer, according to the opinion that it is obligatory, which is the most preponderant view.
