Is it permissible to go pray in a second or third congregation at gas station prayer rooms that have no Imam, and abandon the first congregation in the mosque without an excuse, knowing that praying in a second or third congregation without an excuse has not been authentically reported from the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, nor from his companions?

A fatwa (definition) has previously been issued regarding the repetition of congregational prayer in the mosque. There is no dislike in repeating the congregational prayer in mosques located on roads and in markets. However, one should not lag behind the main congregation in the mosque to pray in a gas station's prayer room, for a sound hadith (definition) warns against delay: "A group of people will continue to lag behind until Allah puts them behind." Moreover, the number of worshippers in such prayer rooms is usually smaller, which leads to missing out on the greater of two rewards, for "whatever is more numerous is more beloved to Allah the Almighty."
