What is the ruling regarding someone who breaks their fast with dates, then goes to pray Maghrib, and then returns to eat the rest of the iftar? Is this more preferable, or is it better to break the fast with the family and then pray in congregation?

If the food is ready and one desires it, it is better to start by eating it, then go to the mosque for prayer if one can catch the congregational prayer. Otherwise, one should pray with one's family.
