Does the prayer become void or invalid if, after the last tashahhud in the final rak'ah, one does not supplicate with "Allahumma atina fi al-dunya hasanah wa fi al-akhirati hasanah wa qina adhab al-nar" (O Allah, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire) and "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min fitnat al-mahya wal-mamat wa min fitnat al-masih al-dajjal" (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death, and from the trials of the Dajjal) before the taslim (final salutation)?

Seeking refuge from the tribulation (fitnah) of the Dajjal, the tribulation of life and death, and from sin and debt, is established in the Two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim) and is recommendable (mustahabb), not obligatory. Therefore, if a worshiper omits it, their prayer is still valid, and this is what the relied-upon position of the four madhhabs affirms.
