What about ritual impurity (major and minor) during circumambulation (Tawaf)? Does the pilgrim complete the rounds after the impurity, or do they start anew?

Purity from both major and minor ritual impurity is a condition for the validity of circumambulation (Tawaf (definition)) according to the majority of scholars. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Circumambulation of the House is prayer, except that you may speak during it," and his saying: "Learn your rituals from me." He (peace be upon him) only circumambulated in a state of purity. Therefore, whoever becomes impure during Tawaf or remembers that he began it in a state of impurity must exit, purify himself, and then start the Tawaf from the beginning, just like someone who becomes impure during prayer.
