For men, covering what is between the navel and the knees, and the corresponding area of the back, is an obligatory condition for the validity of prayer. As for women, their entire body is considered 'awrah (private parts) except for the face and hands. If any part of the 'awrah is uncovered for a short period unintentionally, the prayer is not invalidated. The worshiper must hasten to cover it. However, if the 'awrah is intentionally uncovered or remains uncovered for a long time, the prayer becomes invalid.
