The answer

Friday is like any other day concerning the times when prayer is prohibited, except that many scholars have excluded the time before zawal (midday). The Shafi'is, and a view among the Hanbalis (chosen by Sheikh al-Islam and his student Ibn al-Qayyim), held that prayer is not prohibited at this time on Friday. The Maliki holds that this time is not a time of prohibition at all. The basis for this is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged early arrival for Friday prayer and praying until the Imam comes out. The time of al-shams (when the sun is at its zenith) is known by the shadow stopping, neither increasing nor decreasing.
